Grammar Slammar

This week I was working on hyphens. I never really learned how to properly hyphenate words, but I do remember learning about it. I thought it would be good to learn.
Both websites that I found gave four rules of using a hyphen and the second of the two websites list a 5th that the first just talks about, but dosent list as a rule. The four rules are as follows:
To join two or more words that will be a single adjective for a noun.
When using numbers twenty-one to ninety-nine plus fractions
To help you understand what word is being used. To help avoid confusion, and awkward combination's of words.
Also when using prefixes that come before a capitalized word, figures and numbers. Also with the prefixes ex, self, and all. Plus the suffix elect.
The last is using one at the end of a line. It is not recommend especially with academic writing.
